Phonics is a method of teaching reading and writing in English by developing children’s ability to hear, identify and manipulate sounds in words. We use a systematic phonics programme called “Letters and Sounds“. Alongside this programme we use the “Jolly Phonics” actions and songs.
If your child already knows the sounds, why not try to think about words with these sounds in the middle or end, (like in the examples above). You can also find out what other sounds they can hear in the words.
